The web started with static HTML files.

Then everything became dynamic: blogs, CMSs, databases, backends.

Now static is interesting again. For a lot of content, it’s faster, cheaper, simpler, and more secure.

I’m writing this in a local WordPress installation, then exporting it as static HTML.

After all that progress, I’m basically back to serving files.
